Mrs. Chandra Motik Yusuf is the one and only Indonesian female lawyer that has dedicated herself to the Maritime Law and Public Affairs arenas. She possesses over 25 years of professional experience in legal, political, social, and business matters, both at the national and international levels. Her skills in this specialized area were acquired from years of experience working with governmental agencies, Indonesia House of Representatives, trade associations, corporate, international organizations, law firms and private companies. As the founder of “Chandra Motik Yusuf & Associates,” Mrs. Motik possesses strong leadership and management skills. She has successfully led the firm and made it well known and respected for its merits and reputation.

Mrs. Motik has been working with various national and international shipping companies, freight forwarders, and trading companies over the years and has handled a myriad of public and private issues such as Indonesian coastal development, maritime transportation affairs, and private port development regulations. One of her most significant accomplishments is appointment as the Maritime Law Advisor for the Chief of the Indonesian Navy in 2002. Today she is one of the Senior Advisors for the Chief and has been contributing her time and commitment to enhance the wealth of its members.

Recently, Mrs. Motik was elected as the Chairwoman of the Law Faculty Alumni University of Indonesia for 2008-2011, where she also contributes her time as senior lecturer. As a dedicated scholar, Mrs. Motik has written and published various books ranging from Indonesian laws and policies, political and public regulations, to Indonesian traditional cloth and culinary recipes. Mrs. Motik is also an active member of Board Director for the Indonesia Lawyer Association, Asia Lawyer Association, ASEAN Lawyer Association, and International Maritime Committee.

In addition to this, she received many awards such as Indonesia Top Manager Profile and Businesswomen, 30 Top Young Attorneys in Millennium III Era, Woman Profile in the Indonesia Development and many more.

As a prominent attorney, Mrs. Motik is currently involved in the House of Representative Regulatory Committee to draft and compose the Indonesian Laws on Indonesian Maritime and Ocean Act and International Consultant Regulations. In addition to this, she is also asked to give legal advise on Indonesia New Land Act for a National project that is performed by Indonesia National Land Board Agency (BPN RI) and Asia Development Bank (ADB). She was also one of the few elected attorneys sent as an Indonesian delegate to settle the Human Right Violations Dispute between Indonesia and East Timor in 1999.

Mrs. Motik graduated from the University Of Indonesia Faculty Of Law and with High Distinction (Summa Cum Laude). She then received an M.A and PhD in International Maritime Law from Kennedy Western University in United State
